After I wrote to you last Wednesday, I decided the next day to look into developing the website for our future business. This has been very motivating because it takes all of the dreams and ideas we have for our future, and gives them a visual platform to tweak and organize. Most of the products will not be available for at least 6-9 months, some of our plans are even further reaching 2-3 years, however it feels good to have our domain to create the business and future we’ve been dreaming about. I was able to start a website and save our www.ervinhighlandfarms.com page for reasonable cost because I am designing it myself. So it needs a few adjustments, but it is coming along pretty quickly.
I took the kids to the Republic aquatic center Thursday and we headed back to the farm last Friday. Father’s Day was very good with Bbq Ribs, wings, and our new favorite, the big potato boat.
I have been letting our pet chicks hang out in our yard around the yome.
They are very fluffy, funny chicks following me around… “No Chicks in The Yome!”
So, on the farm, we have a driveway up to our flat area where we will be moving the camper, hopefully this week, maybe. Bill took down all the low hanging tree branches in the tree line, which is nice because it’s really shady on this…top of the hill and gets a nice breeze.
We can see down to the the animals from our yard and there is even a sandy area we can put a pool next spring. We will be having our Derksen building delivered tomorrow, (pictured below) and then Bill and our neighbor will move the camper. One great advantage of being the weaker vessel is I am not in charge of moving large metal things, on wheels, on hills near creek bottoms. I get to focus on taking care of daily things like children and animals, with nutrition and hygiene.
Speaking of animals we brought home our two female katadin sheep yesterday and as soon as Iona is finished eating lunch we’re going to go make sure the rabbits, goats, and now sheep have plenty of fresh spring water to drink. The big kids just surprised me with wild blackberries. Until next week….
blackberry time.
